I used to have a sort of problem with impulse buying and I’ve been doing well (for the most part), but as soon as I saw a Moleskine on my way to the cashier I had to get it. I have fallen off the wagon once again. Here’s a sketch from the book.

Pyrography Project
For Throwback Thursday, I’m revisiting my first Pyrography project. Pyrography is a great medium to step out of your comfort zone with, as well as good practice for building a steady hand. It’s amazing to see what you can discover about yourself through experimentation with different mediums. Roughly 4-5 hours. Solid-point burner and wood slab.

Sketched a portrait of my fiance, scanned and completed using Illustrator. I wanted to experiment with textures like bone and flesh in a digital piece.
